After Watching Law and Order

for ten minutes, I went to the kitchen,
found paper and pen, and sat down to write.
Ideas came easily - riding horses in the Andes,
the ache for human touch, quilts I have known,
stages of banana color.
Alas, my editor was working overtime.
She didn't like any of my ideas.
I'd like to put her in the TV for a while.
Maybe then the programming would improve.
